Family-friendly things to do for Halloween in Miami

Children are among those who like holidays most. These events are our chance to spend some quality time with them and have some fun too. The joy starts the moment we begin thinking about our costumes. If you are not willing to spend money on these, making a costume yourself is a great idea. Here are some events you can take part in with your family on Halloween.

Pumpkin Patches

The celebration of Halloween doesn’t take part only on October 31st. There is a wide range of events taking place before Halloween night. Pumpkin patches are an inevitable part of this holiday and they take place in various locations all around the area. You can choose the farm nearest to you or the one you like most.  All of them offer similar services to you and your family. For example, pumpkins you can decorate with your children, pony rides, scarecrow kits, petting farms, tractor rides, pedal boats, etc.

Zoo Boo

One of the top things to do for Halloween in Miami takes place at Miami Zoo. Children aged 12 and under in the company of their parents visit the zoo wearing costumes. Some of them want to enter a costume competition and win a nice prize. Others trick-or-treat, participate in Halloween craft, listen to music and enjoy various performances. The highlight of the evening is watching animals enjoy their own Halloween treats.

Monster Splash at Miami Seaquarium

This is a complete Halloween event. Children can enjoy painting, creating a scarecrow zone, inflatables, trick-or-treating at Sharky’s Sweet Tooth Stations, the Mangrove Haunted Walk and many more. Although this isn’t one of those free things to do in Miami, it is well worth seeing.

Spooky Science Monster Mash at The Frost Museum

This is the second Spooky Science Monster Mash organized at the Frost Museum. Last year, the event was a resounding success, so we don’t expect any less this year either. The museum staff always comes up with something new, so put on your favorite costume and head up straight to the museum. Among numerous fascinating live science demonstrations, you shouldn’t miss underwater pumpkin carving.

Howl-o-ween pet party

Believe it or not, your four-legged pets can celebrate Halloween too. This is an annual event at Pinecrest Gardens which attracts the attention of both children and their parents. And, pets of course. Choose the costume for both you and your dog and start to Pinecrest Gardens. Enjoy food and drinks, face painting, trick-or-treat and costume contest. If you are lucky, you might go home with a fun prize when the event is over.
